Premium car industry hiked 88% in Romania last year

The luxury car range present in Romania includes brands, such as Bentley, Maserati, Aston Martin, Ferrari, Rolls Royce, Lamborghini, Bugatti, Maybach and Wiesmann.

The number of new-car registrations hiked 59% in 2008, up to 116 units and to 153 units for second-hand.

The luxury brand with the highest number of car registration in Romania was Bentley with 81 units, namely 72% advance from 2007, 72 registrations for Maserati, up by 188% from a year earlier, 29 for Aston Martin brand, up 50% in 2008, 40 Ferrari cars registered, namely 60% growth from 2007, 24 registration of Rolls-Royce, 118% more than a year ago, 14 Lamborghini and 7 Maybach, one Bugatti and one Wiesmann.

In November 2008, Bentley Bucharest, company fully owned by Porsche Romania delivered Bentley Azure T convertible in Romani (280,000 euros), and in December 2008, AutoItalia group, the official importer of Maserati in Romania launched the new Maserati Quattroporte.
